PENN ROOSEVELT PLANT WALK

Take a leisurely Plant Walk with Forestry Extension Educator, Cathryn Pugh, to learn about common plants in Penn Roosevelt State Park on Wednesday, July 30 from 2:30 to 4PM and 6 to 7:30PM. Participants will learn the basics of plant identification with opportunities to use their senses to experience the botanical world in new ways. All are welcome! Walks will be up to .5 miles long, on gentle paths with restrooms nearby. No registration required and programs are free! Meet at the Day Use Area.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 2025 IN MIFFLINTOWN

5:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Mifflintown Borough Council presents National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, beginning at 5PM at Myers Park. Join them to promote strong community policing partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie, safe neighborhoods and a pleasant place to live and work.

There will be games, a bounce house, pony rides, activities, live music from Bella Donna, face painting, food vendors. Plus enjoy free popcorn and a move beginning at dusk. Please bring your own chairs and blankets. The featured film is The Wild Robot.

OPEN GYM NIGHT

Pine Glen Alliance Church will be holding their monthly Gym Night, for children 6-12 years old on Wednesday, August 6, from 6-8PM in the gym. This event will include: basketball, volleyball, soccer, golf and large board Tic Tac Toe, Badminton, jump rope, Bingo and corn hole competitions. Mark your calendars! The 50th anniversary of the Burnham Fire Company is set for August 15 and 16. To celebrate the 50th, there will be a few changes and most of your old favorites. Lots of prizes, good food, rip tickets and lots of fun!

The biggest change is the Raffle Ticket. Hope you like Cash…. Lots of Cash…the grand prize is $10,000! Ticket price will stay the same, $10 per chance.

The second change is they will be accepting credit/debit cards online and in person for Raffle Tickets. All other tickets must be purchased in person. Food and games will still be cash only. PARMALEE AT THE JUNIATA COUNTY FAIR

Parmalee is coming to the Juniata County Fair on Sunday, August 31 at 8:30PM. Tickets can only be purchased online through Juniata County Fair’s official website at www.juniatacountyfair.com or through the Port Royal Speedway website, www.portroyalspeedway.com.

Concert will be held rain or shine. Speedway season reserved seats are not valid for this event. This is no infield seating for this event.

BARK IN THE PARK

The 3rd annual Bark in the Park will take place Saturday, September 20 from 9AM to 2PM in Walker Township Park in Mifflintown. What to expect:

New this year! Instead of a pet parade, they will be doing a Pet Fashion Show from 11AM to 12:30PM. Dress up your pup and let them walk the red carpet to strut their stuff for the judges. Just no “cat calling” please! lol Categories include Best Pet Head (Hair Style), Best Walk, and Best Matching Dog and Handler. Prizes will be given out. Registration costs $5 and you must be registered to participate.

They are still looking for vendors. All proceeds from Bark in the Park go to ROFF Rescue.
